Musicians of the Naples Philharmonic perform two watershed works in this vibrant program, pairing a mature statement from Haydn with an early work by Beethoven that reveals his emerging voice in chamber music. The program begins with Haydns inventive String Quartet, Op. 76, No. 1, notable for its orchestral-style opening, lively interplay among the four instruments and flashes of the composers characteristic wit. The program concludes with Beethovens Septet, one of the most popular works of his lifetime.
